UF PEDCARD is a comprehensive and non-invasive cardiac care provider to infants, children and adults throughout north central Florida and southern Georgia. Pediatric Cardiology sub-specialty programs in electrophysiology, interventional cardiology and heart transplantation continue to remain strong.


Camp Boggy Creek camping experience is more than a fun-filled getaway. It helps children to better cope with the day-to-day challenges they face. It also offers critical support to the parents, guardians and siblings of these amazing campers.

 

 

The combined programs in pediatric cardiology and the University of Florida have developed from a long-standing collaboration between the Gainesville and Jacksonville campuses. The program in Gainesville is the first of its kind in the south and has been a major center for teaching and training over the years.

Schowengerdt receives grant from the Children’s Heart Foundation

Kenneth O. Schowengerdt JR., M.D., an associate professor of pediatrics, received a $143,115 grant from the Children’s Heart Foundation. Schowengerdt plans to use the funding for his research titled “The Role of Neutrophil-derived Factors in the Pathogenesis of Cardiac Allograft Vasculopathy.”
